The most important thing about me is that I am a sinner who is justified by faith in Christ. Second only to that reality is that I am a husband to an amazing wife (Elisha) and the father of two children, one born and one soon to be born.

I have desired to move into vocational ministry for the past four years. Through God’s leading, my family found itself at Hastings Baptist Church. Pastor Matt Moser encouraged me to consider E4:12 as a way to begin training for ministry.

E4:12 has helped me to see the evangelistic component of disciple-making. I would have previously viewed discipleship as only primarily instructive or didactic in nature. Now I see the lifestyle and intentional Gospel outreach as equally important.

So far my favorite parts of the class have been working though “Grasping God’s Word” and our class discussions. In the recent weeks, I have been greatly enjoying “Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life.” It has really pushed me and challenged me in the best ways.

If you join E4:12, be ready for hard work that is equally challenging and rewarding. You will be forced to grow and stretch your limits. Anticipate spiritual maturation. Expect to be greatly encouraged by fellow Christ-followers who want to serve the Lord.
