Why E4:12

Our objective at E4:12 is that you will become a more intentional and effective disciple maker through a strong grasp of the message and method of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the ultimate disciple maker.

The world is changing for the worse at a rapid pace. We believe disciple-making is the hope of the church and the hope of the world. And the best part, the staggering news, is that God is calling you to be a part of this work. It would be good to ask yourself the following questions:

  • Do you want to live for something bigger and greater than yourself?
  • Do you desire to be swept up into a grand story that is larger than your life?
  • What would it look like for you to invest all of your God-given energy and time and resources into one singular, magnificent, life-organizing obsession?
  • What would it look like for you to be all in, living your life for Jesus alone?

God has wired you for this. Jesus is Lord over all. He desires to fill every space—where you live, learn, work, play, and worship—with His glory through you as you live on mission with Him. You exist for one core reason: to be a disciple maker in the way of Jesus to the glory of God.

Consider 2 Corinthians 5:14-20:

Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. . . . We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.

Nothing brings God more glory, and nothing is more freeing than abandoning our own mission and joining the everyday mission of God to make disciples in the way of Jesus to the glory of God wherever we can, whenever we can, to whomever we can. Whether you are a student, farmer, stay-at-home mom, teacher, doctor, factory worker, retired, this wonderful calling should be the organizing center of your life that forms the reason for why you get out of bed in the morning and guides you until you go to bed at night. How futile it is to live our life with any other agenda! Such a life will amount to nothing.

One hundred years from now, no one will care how many likes or followers you had on social media. No one will care where you worked or how high you climbed the company ladder. No one will care what house you lived in, what kind of car you drove, what clothes you wore, or how much money you made.

The only thing that will matter – the only thing – is that you lived on mission for Jesus and that you helped others do the same. You leveraged your gift mix, your living room, your home, your workplace, your school, your place of worship – by making much of Jesus. You filled those spaces with Jesus.

Clearly, there are other ways to pursue a life devoted to disciple-making, but whether or not you choose E4:12 as this means of training, we want to invite you to put to God right now – “Lord, I am willing to go anywhere and do anything you want me to do. I am done living for myself. I am aligning with Your purpose. I am totally available.”

God is calling to you, “Wake up, sleeper, rise . . . and Christ will shine on you” (Ephesians 5:14). So what are you waiting for?

Wake up to God’s purpose and give yourself away without regret or retreat. If you want God’s blessing, His power, His glory, His joy – then align yourself with His mission. Embrace the freedom of self-forgetfulness. Wake up to the glory of God’s cause and throw yourself unreservedly into God’s workforce.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than the things you did do; so throw off the bow lines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. -Mark Twain

Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. All for the honor and glory of Jesus Christ!

Here are a few more reasons why you should consider E4:12.

It will stretch you spiritually. The call to disciple-making in the way of Jesus is a call to die to self and learn how to be and make devoted followers of Jesus – people who learn His ways, reflect His character, and then reproduce themselves in others. And you need to know, this will not be quick or easy. Jesus took three years to build twelve disciples. Can we make disciples better and quicker than our Savior? No. Forming disciples who have embraced Jesus’ message and model will take time and hard work! But it is also so worth it.

It provides much needed accountability. Sadly, most Christians do not know how to make disciples. Even sadder, many Christians report that they have never been discipled. Is it any wonder that so many of us struggle to follow Jesus as His disciple, much less disciple others? The truth is disciple-making is intended to be relational and co-missional. You grow the most and best in a community of likeminded brothers and sisters in Christ who are laser-focused on the same vision. Therefore, we provide personal, hands-on training and mentoring by immersing you in the life of the church and through wise, Scriptural guidance and application.

It is accessible. We have saved the best for last! All of our training is 100% free! We only ask that you buy the required books and be willing to cover the cost of a conference and/or online training resource.

And one last thing, for this to happen, you are going to need a humble posture. We all feel inadequate and ill-equipped to be a disciple of Jesus and to make other disciples. Be encouraged. Allow your inadequacy and fears to drive you to a humble dependence on the grace of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit (1 Peter 5:6).

We look forward to partnering with you for the greatest cause on the face of the earth!
